SCOTUS Takes Student Borrower Defense Case In Biden Loan Forgiveness Saga

The U.S. Supreme Court will review a lower court decision blocking the Biden administration’s 2022 revision of the borrower defense rule, which forgives loans for students defrauded by schools. This case will test the administration’s authority under the Higher Education Act of 1965 and impact future loan forgiveness efforts.

The Court also declined to hear two gun rights cases, avoiding challenges to Delaware’s ban on assault weapons and Maryland’s handgun licensing law. However, it has not yet ruled on other appeals regarding gun regulations.
