Trump Issues Furious Response To Sentencing Date In Manhattan Case

President-elect Donald Trump criticized the Manhattan DA’s decision to sentence him in the “hush money” case involving Stormy Daniels just days before his inauguration, calling it a “political attack” and a “First Amendment violation.” Judge Juan Merchan upheld the conviction but granted Trump an unconditional discharge, meaning no jail time or fines. The judge stated that presidential immunity doesn’t retroactively apply and emphasized the importance of upholding the jury’s unanimous verdict. Trump vowed to continue fighting the case, which he claims is a partisan “witch hunt.”
