Tom Homan Challenges CNN’s Kaitlan Collins on Immigration Policies
Former acting ICE Director Tom Homan recently sparred with CNN’s Kaitlan Collins over the Trump administration’s immigration enforcement policies. During an interview on The Source, Collins questioned whether ICE would target undocumented individuals near schools, churches, and hospitals.
Homan dismissed concerns, stating, “There should be no fear unless an individual poses a security threat.” Collins argued that undocumented parents fear being detained while taking their children to school. Homan responded, “They are in the country illegally. We will enforce the law.”
In a separate Fox News interview, Homan discussed enhanced support from the Pentagon for deportation operations. He noted that military aircraft would help transport thousands of individuals, allowing ICE agents to focus on arrests. “This assistance is crucial,” he said. “It enables ICE to pursue criminals rather than being burdened with logistical tasks.”
Homan also addressed upcoming enforcement actions in cities with policies opposing federal immigration measures. He emphasized that ICE operations would begin immediately after Inauguration Day, starting in Chicago. “If local leaders obstruct enforcement efforts, legal consequences may follow,” he warned.
Speaking with Fox News host Jesse Watters, Homan reiterated that ICE would fully enforce immigration laws, free from previous restrictions. He confirmed large-scale operations nationwide, stating, “We will remove the limitations placed on ICE and allow agents to do their jobs.”
Homan criticized the previous administration’s approach, asserting that under the new policies, ICE would no longer be restricted from arresting individuals solely for unlawful presence in the country.
