In late 2024, reports surfaced of large drones flying over several areas in New Jersey, including the Raritan River and Donald Trump’s golf course in Bedminster. The FAA implemented temporary flight restrictions over sensitive locations, while local authorities stated there were no known threats to public safety. Incidents included the disruption of a helicopter rescue operation.

The FBI launched an investigation, urging the public to provide any information about the drones.
